What We’re Looking For: Experience: Senior or strategic role in children’s residential care, including proven leadership and line management. Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Residential Children’s Services (or equivalent). or working towards this. Skills: Exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational skills. Passion: A deep commitment to improving the outcomes and wellbeing of children and young people. About the Role
This is not a standard residential role.
At Sherlock, Residential Support Workers are part of a consistent, structured team supporting young people with complex needs to stabilise, build trust and move forward. You will be working within a home that prioritises relationships, but is supported by clear systems, expectations and pathways for progress.
The role involves day-to-day care, but also contributing to a wider plan that connects care, education and development.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead a dedicated team in delivering high-quality, person-centred childcare.
Ensure the children’s physical, emotional, psychological, and social development is supported through a varied programme of activities.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Children Act 1989 & 2004.
Mentor and supervise staff, promoting ongoing development and wellbeing.
Maintain a safe and secure environment, ensuring the highest standard of care.
Oversee the day-to-day management of the Children’s Home
Make a lasting difference in the lives of vulnerable children
