Employee Assistace Programme (EAP) services. To help you deal with personal problems that might adversely impact your work performance, health and well-being. EAP generally include assessment, short-term counselling and referral services for you and your immediate family.
Our comprehensive and in-depth Induction and Training Programmes improve the confidence of our staff, and empower them to provide exceptional support for the young people in our care.
AT SHS, you’ll have the opportunity to attend a wide range of courses, which are held regularly in our Homes across the West Midlands. Inclusive of Mandatory training, Topics include:

Therapeutic care training SHS run a number of training courses that teach therapeutic knowledge and skills.
Our one and two-day therapeutic courses include:
• Understanding attachment and attachment difficulties
• Understanding and responding to complex trauma
• Brain development in infancy
• Understanding and managing self-harm
• Responding to sexually harmful behaviour
• Introduction to reflective and therapeutic practice
We also offer monthly group training sessions conducted by Dr Bhogal a Clinical Psychologist. We also have an in house trainer Jovan who comes and delivers relevant training all year round.
Our Registered Managers are all NVQ 5 qualified and have achieved a Diploma in Health and Social Care or higher.
Our Team Leaders are all NVQ 3 qualified and will be assisted to undertake NVQ 5 studies so that they may develop their skills and qualifications to support further career development, such as progression towards becoming a Registered Manager.
Our Support Workers are asked to commit to QCF/NVQ 3 studies as a condition of their appointment, so that we can be confident that they have the necessary skills and training to support our service users from the earliest stage.

SHS are recruiting a Deputy Manager who holds QCF Level 3/5 in Children and Young People or equivalent.

Senior Child Care Practitioner

Child Care Practitioner
